Should Microsoft cut off apple completley resrticting ALL microsoft products from running on mac???

Okay I am a windows user and I am so sick of Mac fans doing nothing but critize windows and try to put down microsoft and all windows users and yet they use microsofts software (microsoft office, etc.)

The way I see it, I say Microsoft should cut all ties with apple. getting rid of office for mac and disabling all previous macs with office already on it. Restrict apple from making a computer that can run windows and any other type of windows software.

Apple seems to be doing fine with it's itechnology so I say microsoft should cut all ties with apple and let apple be independent of microsoft.

opinions please

Should Microsoft cut off apple completley resrticting ALL microsoft products from running on mac???
um, they can't stop 'em. that's like GM saying, hey all you Nissan truck owners. We're gonna make it so that you can't use gas any more to run your vehicles.

You just can't. They'd say, um, too bad, ppl will buy gas wherever they want. There's millions of gas stations.

Same with macs. They buy their own copy of Windows. If anything, Bill Gates likes it because it sells more copies of Windows Vista!

The macbook pro runs Vista the FASTEST! It's a fact. No other pc can run Vista quicker. Google it buddy.

If Bill Gates doesn't wanna make Office for macs any more that's his choice, but one of losing money.

Disabling macs that have office on 'em already? Gee. sounds like Bill Gates alright. Sounds like you have a class action lawsuit on your hands now.
Reply:why, surly the whole point of making money is making your product available to as many people as possible. i don't understand your argument !!
Reply:In response to "Mac fans doing nothing but criticize windows" What do you think Windows users do of MAC's? How bout everyone find what they like and use it and stop telling others what to use. I know, like that will ever happen.

Just my 2 cents.
Reply:Luke... I agree with you.

Luke, I am your father... an' yo uncle.
Reply:I'm a windows user too, but I'm not dumb. Apple products have a lot going for them. When was the last time you heard of a virus that attacks Apple products.

By allowing windows products to run on Apple Machines, then they too can be bothered by some of the windows annoyances, that we have come to enjoy!
Reply:A lot of your responses are unfortunately quite uninformed...

Here's the actual happenings between the two companies. It is indeed true that mac's can run windows. My brother has a mac in the other room with windows xp running on it. It's indeed a nice option having both xp and OS x. What makes the Mac system good is the OS. The rest of the system is using all pc based parts. They run Xeon 771 socket processors just like a pc. Once they switched over from IBM processors to intel it made everything much easier for Apple.

Now the truth....Yes apple can run windows xp. But did you know that there are those trying to run Mac OS X on pc's as well? This is the only sole reason anyone should buy a apple machine. Strictly for the operating system. But did you know that OS X runs a hardware check for it to even install? Apple is being just as dirty as microsoft. For Apple's OS, upon install it runs a check to see if it has specific hardware on the motherboard...If it's not there it refuses to install. This is apple's method of not allowing pc users to install Max OS X.

There are patches you can grab that will work around this and let you install Max OS X on a pc...think of it as the PC's method of bootcamp...Only it's community run by individuals and not Microsoft itself. Did you also know that apple has tried to stop these communities from their work?...Apple is just as dirty as Microsfot..They are both attempting the same thing. To completely shut down the use of running their operating system on their competitors hardware.

Now in regards to which performs better?..They are both exactly the same. Apples are running custom Socket 771 based motherboards. With Xeon 771 based processors. These are the exact same products that have been used in PC workstations for YEARS....apple has just adopted it since they are able to outperform IBM's powerpc architecture as well as offer Apple computers the ability to install windows. Whoever claims a apple runs better than a PC is spouting false information. They use the same processors and offer the same performance. You can't compare a Xeon setup against a home desktop. Xeons are built for workstations. Pit it up against a matching pc workstation and you'll see the same results. Also the PC versions are MUCH cheaper since you're not paying for the "apple" name. The only thing apple has going for it is the operating system. Besides that they are nothing special. For those who swear by apple only products...They are simply lackies or just misinformed...

My brother recently just spent 6 grand on a Mac Pro dual socket dual-core system running at 2.66 ghz (two 2.66 dual cores = 4 cores). It also has 8 gigs of ram with a puny geforce 7300 graphics card.

For 6 grand I can build a monstrous pc workstation. Dual socket with even faster processors, a top grade dual socket 771 motherboard, a propfessional LCD priced around 1500 (Sorry to say..Apple Cinema Displays are not the cream of the crop), a cutting edge graphics card, two 10k rpm raptor hard drives along with 2 storage 1 TB hard drives, new mouse, and keyboard. Now tell me..Which is the better buy?..The pc will also outperform the mac quite easily...

The fact is..When you buy a mac..You're buying a name..That's all. Don't let them dupe you into thinking you're getting the best machine possible. They are just overpriced PC's with hardware limitations since you can't choose the parts you want. Ohh what's that?..You want the latest FireGL or Quadro graphics card for your workstation?..Sorry..that's not available on the mac's..But we have the last generation model priced at the new generations price tag of 1,500 dollars....would you like that?.... Garbage..

I'd only buy macs for the OS...But considering you can run Mac OS X with a little know how on a PC..What's the point? Mac will do anything it can to stop this. Which they will end up failing like most companies due trying to make their hardware/OS exclusive.

Ohhh BTW....For those claiming Mac OS X is the most secure operating system. Sorry...But once again you're misinformed. The truth is windows Vista is currently the most secure operating system. You must be asking "Then why are all thes mac I've seen virus free?"...Simple..The market is PC based. Apples market share is incredibly small compared to PC's...They are gaining ground though. It's all do to hype and marketing...As well as the fact that they can run windows now....

I'll leave it off with one more addition...the fabled Mac OSX Leopard, is already running on pc's...Why pay so much more when you can get what's good about mac's working on a pc?
Reply:Apple products have been superior in the graphic arts, music and video production industry for quite some time now. However workplaces that run primarily on Apple products also need the support of Office applications. OpenOffice has done a good job of supporting that for Mac users but still not as reliable and up to date as MS Office I think.

I love my Mac for my own business and hobbies but also have my Win XP machine sittin there for work which I hardly use anymore but even then I do not think one is superior over the other. It all depends on the user and what the primary intent of the machine is. I think if MS were to cut out Apple completely they will have a hard time keeping their young user base since they will have no choice to go with 100% Mac, get used to that and keep that tradition throughout their life just like we did with Windows.
Reply:Because Apple fans annoy you, you think Microsoft should pull out of a market which provides them with revenue? That seems like a rather silly reason for them to do so.

They would probably suffer another antitrust lawsuit if they did so anyway.
