Did microsoft add trillions to world wealth? is this error murdering us all?

i think one can see very easily that microsoft didnt add trillions to world wealth simply by thinking of microsoft without human society, culture, science and world - without the science scientists universities tradesmen who feed the universities women who support the tradesmen by their underpaid labour etc - the whole of humanity - microsoft could actually do nothing without those other things - we are paying the tip of the iceberg for what the iceberg does - this wouldnt be so bad except it means that the pay to microsoft has to come from the rest of the iceberg: the 9/10ths of humanity have to be underpaid to fund this overpay - which then causes war, which is escalative, which has brought us to 60x kill-everything capability - justice is essential to survival - 1000s of years of rich get richer has brought us to the superextreme injustice [injury] %26amp; violence %26amp; tyranny %26amp; slavery of pay from $1 to $1 billion a fortnight - isnt this true? isnt this allimportant? isnt this the way out?

Did microsoft add trillions to world wealth? is this error murdering us all?
No, but its a better place with them. Its easy to hate the rich and successful isn't it. If you don't like them just use Linux, Firefox, etc.

Microsoft High definition Audio driver For windows xp?

Where can i get a working Microsoft High definition Audio driver For windows xp?.

I know my soundcard driver is fine i installed it ok but the driver which i cant get to for xp is the Microsoft UAA high defninition audio driver.

It is driving me up the wall.Never in my years of computing have i had such trouble getting a driver and getting a soundcard to work and its all because of the microsoft high definition audio driver.

I cant find the right version for windows xp pro sp2 i tried doing a windows update which had no effect.

I tried installing a dell %26amp; hp version of microsofts high definition audio but they wont work it has to be one for xp.

It works in vista fine but when i swtich to xp i have no sound at all and it keeps asking me to install the high definition audio but i cant without the driver.

If i cant find it online i am going to have to pay pc world to install it which i am not happy about when its something that can be done for free online.

Microsoft High definition Audio driver For windows xp?
I just did a yahoo search with.

uaa high definition audio driver windows xp service pack 2.

And went on Lenovo support %26amp; downloads.

You need to download kb888111xp2en.exe
Reply:Use Microsoft update in XP control panel. The site will scan your PC and list all needed downloads. Make sure you select "CUSTOM" and not EXPRESS. When list of updates available comes out, make sure you select all updates including optional software and hardware updates. Install all and you should be up and running after the install process.

If this doesnt work then try the support site of your PC manufacturer or try Realtek for audio drivers. Make sure they are Windows XP drivers and not Vista.

You can get in touch if you need further help cuz I had a similar problem recently.

Microsoft Word Problem?

When I try to type documents on Microsoft Word, after some time ranging from less than one minute to several minutes, I get the following error message and the entire program including my typed document and info disappear without a trace:

The Header reads: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program\Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\WINWORD%26gt;EXE

abnormal program termination

______________________________________...

My only option when this little box appears in the middle of the screen is to click OK, and then the entire document disappears.

It does not allow me to save anything. It just stops the entire program.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on?

I would appreciate any technical advise.

Microsoft Word Problem?
i think there might be 2 reasons for ur problem

1. u didnot installed the office correctly

2. ur o/s is not working properly

try to install or repair the office again
Reply:I would just uninstall MS Word and then re-install it.
Reply:Runtime errors are program errors from winword itself.. Better re-install your MS-Word.

Microsoft office basic edition 2003?
You will need your Office 2003 CD and 25-digit product key to fix the problem. If the Office 2007 trial software has expired, then you should uninstall it from Start | Control Panel | Add Or Remove Programs before proceeding. Then see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=29582... "You receive the 'This patch package could not be opened' error message in Office 2003, in Office XP, or in Office 2000".

Microsoft has added a new certification, MCPD. Is it worth it?

I am an MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) in .NET with 10 years programming experience. However my experience in .NET is still light. Mostly I've done VB 6. I am a contract programmer and usually I have to look for a new job about every 6 months. I'm making $45 per hour W-2 right now.

Microsoft has added a new certification, MCPD, Microsoft Certified Professional Developer. I think they did this because their certification program wasn't already confusing enough. If I upgrade to MCPD, which I can do with two tests, will it help me make much more money? Is it worth it?

Microsoft has added a new certification, MCPD. Is it worth it?
Well, it really depends on your sitution. The only way I can see it help with your Career is that your job requries it, and will pay more if you have it.

Microsoft Outlook 2007 help please!!?

Ok I just got a laptop and microsoft outlook 2007. I can receive messages but I cant send. I checked with my internet service and they did everything they could. I would like to avoid talking to Microsoft because they made me do a couple of things on my computer already that gave me more issues than not. So anyway I'm finally back on line. I checked the firewall setting and i disabled it...and I have a great connection btw. So any idea why I still cant send?? And if you do have a solution please please tell me how to get there. I mean dont just say "yeah it's in Plano Texas" with out giving me direction on how to get there. thanks. Oh and I already tried microsoft outlook support online and that didnt work.

Microsoft Outlook 2007 help please!!?
Microsoft will help if there is an application issue, but this is a settings issue. I would call your ISP and have them assist you with your problem.

There are too many variables to accurately assist you in setting up your email with your provider and therefore the ISP is the best source for your issue. HOWEVER, my guess would be that you need to set up your email account with authentication on your outgoing server connection.

Is Microsoft tricking XBOX 360 USERS? Halo 3 disc error?

We may have realized how defective the 360 are. Now Microsoft has a new xbox with 65nm on stores, but the dont wanna say which one it is. Why? Because they want people to buy the ones in the market. Many people send their xbox 360 back when it is broken, but many other dont know about the warranty stuff.

Why dont Microsoft just call out xbox 360? And why the congress do not make them call out the product? 33% rate failure is too high.

Halo 3 has a disk error. If you look in news.google.com "halo 3 error" you will find a lot of info abou it. Will Microsoft fix that error? Nop. At leas not on the copies people have now. For that they gonna need to recreate the game. There is not way to fix content in a disc that is already recorded. The bug was made while building the game.

Is Microsoft abusing their user? Have they ignored to talk about the topic?

Is Microsoft tricking XBOX 360 USERS? Halo 3 disc error?
Microsoft is replacing defective Xbox 360's, and has extended the warranty on the older units. Although their support is slow and lacking, they are "fixing" the problem with the hardware.

As to the disc error... they have acknowledged a packaging problem with Halo 3, and are replacing defective discs. To get a replacement, go here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/system...
Reply:Well, as i've heard, the 65nm Xbox 360 is the Halo 3 Edition and is from Lot 734, if you buy a new Xbox 360, you can check it on the box, near the barcode... I just bought one on 26 of September... and when i read in the internet, i went to check the box.. and there it is.... Lot 734!!! Yay. :-)

Microsoft Office 2003/2000/XP download?

I need to download the free trial of Microsoft Office either 2000, 2003 or XP as my workplace has not upgraded to 2007 yet and I am unable to do any powerpoints etc in the new format. Where can I download Office 2003? When I go to the Microsoft UK site I cannot find the download option anywhere (only the 2007 downloads), and I don't get anywhere when I go to

http://www.microsoft.com/uk/office/trial...

which is the link given to download 2003 office.

Would really appreciate everyone's help here- thanks!

Microsoft Office 2003/2000/XP download?
Yeah and being one of the richest company's in the world, they (Microsoft) got there by giving away free copies of there most expensive suites, only because it is new are they offering a time limited copy of 2007, in the hope that punters will like it and pay over the top prices for it
Reply:Get OpenOffice at http://www.openoffice.org . It's free and is compatible with MS Office and other office suites.
Reply:you'll proabbly find it really difficult to upgrade to any of the above because vista has been launched. New pcs are now not being shipped with it, and no doubt, microsoft has stopped issuing licenses for anything before vista. The money-grabbing schemers...
Reply:Download a free office suite. Go to www.computeractive.co.uk and click on and search in DOWNLOADS for Office Suite. Its free, compatible with MS Office, and excellent all around.

Microsoft Works 2006 on Vista?

i previously installed Microsoft Works 2006 on my laptop, because of Microsoft Word 2002. My computer came with Microsoft Word 2007 that only works if you buy it. So i figured i'd buy this version because i need the word processor since i'm in school. Anyways, it worked in the beginning, but now that i'm trying to use it again, all that comes up is word 2007. it can't even open my old files. I tried to reinstall it but it said word 2002 was already on my computer. Does anyone know how i can get it working again??

Microsoft Works 2006 on Vista?
Uninstall all Word and Works programs from your computer.

Restart your machine.

Reinstall Works 2006.

If that doesn't work, then I would suggest buying the newest version of Office 2007 Home and Student Edition. It's only $120 USD from amazon.com

Microsoft or apple?

i use microsoft but also i have a ipod nano

microsoft plays dirty tho

ex. the ipod can be use on mac and microsoft but the zune can;t

Microsoft or apple?
Get a Mac.

Benefits of Mac:

No viruses, or any other malware for that fact. (This is due to Mac OS X's UNIX underpinnings, not "lack of users" or "low market share.")

Seamless integration. Your hardware will work perfectly with your software, because both are designed by Apple.

You will enjoy many advanced features that are not available in Windows, even Vista. Features like Exposé, Spotlight Search, a built-in dictionary that can be invoked in any application with a simple keystroke, easy to build scripting using Automator, zero-configuration networking, system wide spell checking and many more.

Macs can dual-boot with Windows or run Windows within Mac OS X itself. With BootCamp, you can dual-boot with Windows and run any PC application, even high-end games.

Excellent support and customer service. Apple is well known for it's support. I had a wonderful experience with Apple when the logic board in my Mac mini went bad. (This was due to a power issue in my home, not the Mac.)

Great software. Most of the software made for the Mac is better than similar software for Windows. Crap doesn't survive on the Mac market. iLife is absolutely amazing. Mac OS X is compatible with many file formats, right out of the box. As I mentioned before, you can run Windows applications. With a Mac, you can have it both ways.

Beautiful hardware. Quality hardware. Apple puts the sex in tech. Apple hardware is always beautiful, as well as functional. Apple has extremely talented engineers. One look at an iMac will tell you that much. The hardware is of excellent quality and built to last. Macs are well known to have a longer life span than PCs.

Upgrades? Who needs them. A seven year old iMac can still run the latest release of Mac OS X. Sure, you can add more RAM or get a bigger hard drive, but your Mac will run beautifully for years to come. When a new version of Mac OS X is released, you won't need to scramble to purchase upgrades in order to run it. (Leave that to the Vista adopters.)

Crashing. It doesn't happen. I'm not saying Mac OS X is absolutely perfect, but it's damn close. Most problems are easily fixed within minutes. Macs don't require the constant maintenance needed by PCs.

Value. When all of these things add up, you'll actually be saving money, as well as time, in the long run. You'll find yourself actually doing more on a Mac. Things you never thought of doing on a PC.
Reply:Monopolising?? Geez, take a friggin' economics class. Moron. Report It

Reply:i prefer Microsoft because apple seems too complicated like their new computers i don't like the mouse and the screen is funny looking
Reply:for ur nano... use an apple itunes... in ur windows PC to make life much easier
Reply:Microsoft and Intel/AMD (commonly called WinTel) are for business and industry.

Apple is for graphics.

Most software is designed for WinTel configured machines. Macs cost at least twice as much.

OSX is not backward compatible. Vista is, to an extent, but XP and 2000 are fully backward compatible.

Hackers design viruses for Windows-based machines because they are the most widely used software, and are the OS for nearly ALL servers. There have been virii tailored to Macs, but their smaller footprint in the computer community makes them less known.

Mac's OS was stolen from Xerox in the 70s. So was Windows 3.1.

Mac still uses that silly single button mouse as a default, not to mention those keyboards that look like they weren't finished.

Did I mention that Macs cost twice as much?

While WinTel configurations may not be perfect, they are preferable to Macs. Then again, I'm in business, not in graphics design.

I don't care about frippery such as iPods and the like. Computers are tools, and damned good ones, not toys.
Reply:in terms of computers, i prefer mac

you dont get a lot of problems with a mac computer

plus you dont have to worry bout getting a virus
Reply:It depends if its of your needs, Multimedia ppl use Mac as me, I use it for Video Editing and web Design.

PCs are design for GAMERS!!

Anyways Apple Mac is better than Microsoft ...cuz Microsoft is gonna die soon lol

but as i toll you depends of your needs!

If have a PC already and only wanna play music Stick with it, dont waste your money...buying something that u wont need!
Reply:apple plays dirty too. *cough* mp4's *cough*

if you like to upgrade your computers yourself like i do, and play games and stuff, i would go with a pc
Reply:apple
Reply:Your question ?
Reply:i prefer microsoft, bill gates all the wayy
Reply:THe truth is that microsoft marketing is much better than apple.....

but the products for apple are much better!!

mac is better than microsoft

and this is not going to change even with vista copying mac osx

the vista was hacked 24 hours from the release??!!

apple products are more powerful and reliable!!

A is for APPLE

Microsoft Outlook is installed...but where??

I have Microsoft Office installed, and I want to use Microsoft Outlook. However, I can't find that program. On my start menu, under Microsoft Office, there's a bunch of fairly-useless stuff like Language Settings and Application Recovery.

On my desktop, there is a shortcut for Word, how do I get one for Outlook?

I also don't have icons anywhere for Excel, Powerpoint, etc., but when I want a new document in either of those I right click my desktop and click new-%26gt;excel document or whatever

but i cant do that for Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is installed...but where??
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\outlook.exe

just creat a short cut and put it on your desktop
Reply:If you restarted your computer after installing Office, then click on Start and Programs. If you didn't you need to do that before you start this.

Listed under Programs will be the parts of Office: Microsoft Access, Excel, Front Page, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. Right click on each one and select Send To - then select Desk Top (create shortcut). That puts the shortcut for each piece of Office on your desktop.

Microsoft Office 2007 beta wont Unininstall?

my computer crashed a while ago and i lost microsoft office 2007 in the process. when it was repaired i wanted to reinstall microsoft office, but i lost the product key. Frustrated because i had a big essay due soon, i downloaded microsoft office 2007 off of limewire, but i didnt realize it was a beta. so when i installed it and tried to open word, it said my beta software was expired and i couldnt use it. Therefore, i want to uninstall it but it wont let me, (i have windows vista) i go to control panel-programs features-uninstall program, and when i try to uninstall it took a very long time and eventually said files were corrupted. i tried to just delete the files in my shared file limewire folder but it didnt matter. now, even if i somehow found the product key for my original version, it wont install because it says i still have a previous version and must uninstall it first. Will someone please help me, i have and essay due monday!

Microsoft Office 2007 beta wont Unininstall?
You should try scanning it a Anti -Virus,or get one. Then try removing any viruses and uninstall it again.

P.S I would go with Norton Anti-virus.Yesterday it found a high risk virus and got rid of it.Now my computer works fine.HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Microsoft Word?

Hey, I currently have Microsoft Word 2003 installed on my PC and I would like to know how one updates to 2007? Does it involve purchasing the 2007 edition which I am inclinded to believe or can I simply update my exisiting Microsoft 2003 Office to 2007 without additional cost? If so where can I go to do this as so far on the Microsoft site I have met with no success but rather only payment plans for Office 2007

Microsoft Word?
No free upgrade , need to buy a copy .
Reply:Why do you want to upgrade to 2007? Personally, I use 2002 and it does everything I need.
Reply:You have to buy the software. It's not like iTunes where you download the latest version. If you're going to buy new word processing software, you might as well buy Office 2007 since it's top of the line right now and will before about half a decade.
Reply:I'm afraid you can't upgrade your 2003 for free. The upgrade version is cheaper than a full vers, but there is no free upgrade. Just the way Microsoft does business....but then again, that's the way most major software companies do business...
Reply:Try this site there maybe something there you can use.
Reply:You don't need to buy the full package if you have one version already installed in your computer. What you do is, buy an upgrade version to update what you have. This is a lot cheaper than buying the full package. You need to buy the upgrade version. It doesn't cost very much. This applies to all software installed in your computer. You can upgrade what you have to the latest edition provided you have the full package already installed.
Reply:Gathering the information from the way you asked this question, i come to two conclusions. You know nothing about this software package in which case, Microsoft Office 2003 would do sufficiently well for the majority of things that one would do with it. Upgrading it would be a waste of money, unless ofcourse you have a lot of money to spend...in which case, why would you upgrade anyhow rather than buying new! Analogy: buying a Lamborghini / Ferrarri when you travel only 2 km a day. Second conclusion is that you are asking just for the sake of testing out this site and the genuinity of the people who takes the time to answer the questions. If the second is valid, then you don't deserve an answer. I don't mean to be rude or arrogant though. Just making my point clear.
Reply:you cant upgrade you have to buy it sorry dude.
Reply:Alternatively you could download Open Office which is very similar to MS Office, even the interfaces look practically the same. It's free to download and all upgrades are free.
Reply:You best bet is to go to Staples and them if there are any additional costs. although I don't think so.
Reply:This MS link shows each version and whether an upgrade is available and the cost. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites... There are so many different versions you could have or could upgrade to I thought it would be easier to direct you here rather than go back and forth with Q%26amp;As. :)

Microsoft Publisher..................................

Microsoft 2007 Word....................................... stuff.

Microsoft ExcelUseful for financing stuff and has lots of columns.

Microsoft Outlook.................................... mailing program.

Microsoft PowerPoint.....................Great for making slide shows.

Hope this helps.
Reply:You can buy Microsoft Office at any electronics store which includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Frontpage, and others depending on the price. There is no legal way to download them on the internet to my knowledge although Microsoft's website sometimes offers free trials.
Reply:no, there's no MS Office Suite with all the programs. most people don't need Visio, Project, etc, which is why they don't make one with all of them. why would you need them all anyways???

Has Microsoft launched the Windows Vista?

I have found the newest edition of microsoft windows at www.microsoft.com now I want to purchase new microsoft windows but i dont know that has microsoft launched that or now ? so please if anybody know than please give me information about that.

But only its beta version is available.

Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 or Microsoft Office 2007?

Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 or Microsoft Office 2007?
There are so many new features and services that each product has its own site. Most of the product groups have blogs where you can learn a lot more and ask questions directly. There are also links to sign up for the beta program. Here are links to the sites for Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint, Project, Access, Groove, Office Live, Exchange, Windows Vista, and lots more.

The Microsoft Office system has evolved from personal productivity products to a comprehensive and integrated system. Microsoft Office system includes programs, servers, services, and solutions designed to work together to help address a broad array of business problems.

The big changes are a more intuitive User Interface which clusters features together in context to what you are doing. So there are not so many drop down menus as before. Instead the relevant features are displayed in a tool bar and change as you do different things. For example, when you highlight a section of text in Word a new menu appears just above your cursor with many of the likely options. This way you don't need to go up to the main menu and navigate through drop down menus.

The other big changes are a server platform and development tools specifically for Office making it a real platform for business applications. Historically Office has been a suite of individual personal productivity tools. Companies have built sophisticated spreadsheets and workflow applications using Word, Excel, and Access. Now there are better tools, servers, and a workflow framework to make it much easier to develop these applications.

Microsoft Office Live really has nothing to do with Microsoft Office. It is NOT an online hosted version of Office. I think the marketing people went a little overboard trying to leverage the Office brand name...and in the process confused a lot of people.

Office Live consists of FREE web site development tools, hosting, Web site statistics, personalized domain name, and e-mail addresses. It is targeted at small business owners and organizations.

There is a "Live Collaboration" upgrade for $29.95 per months that includes something very similar to a hosted version of Sharepoint where you can store and manage documents, create directories, etc. There are also applications for managing projects, a calendar, a basic CRM application, and other basic company applications. It is a great deal for small business.

There are lots of interesting features and services coming in 2007. It has been a long wait but I think users will be very happy with the results
Reply:Go To Microsoft Website There Will Be A Opption Named As Office 2007 Go There And Press Compare And Selet The Model You Want To Compare
Reply:Hey the 2007 version is more or less like the 2003 in features. The main additions would be your user interface and the file formats. They claim to have streamlined the functioning but we'll know only after it is in the market for some time. You can also test the beta that is out rite now..

MICROSOFT WORD HeLP!?

how do i put a picture on on top of another picture in microsoft word? i am making party invitations and i used a microsoft word template and i want to put a picture from clip art on to the invitation on microsoft word. help!

MICROSOFT WORD HeLP!?
go to the standard picture, insert the pictures from file. what you get would probably be 2 pictures next to each other.

select the one you want to place on top of the other, right click on this picture

click on Format Picture, you'll get a window with a few tabs namely: Colors and Lines, Size, Layout, Picture etc.

click on the Layout tab, under Wrapping Style click on "In Front Of Text", click OK.

now you can move this picture above the other one, or even make it float on other text.

hope i answered your question.

Microsoft Word 2000 won't start?

Microsoft Word 2000 suddenly won't start. Screen goes blank with Word banner at top, but application hangs forever unless terminated. I uninstalled and re-installed (twice) but no change. Have all current updates from Microsoft. When Word hangs, Windows Task Manager shows it consuming about 50% of CPU time. Can halt program using Task Manager or the X on the upper right of Word works too - gives "this program is not responding" message box and allows "end now". Other than that, I get no error messages of any kind. Any suggestions about how I might troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated (Microsoft no longer supports 2000 version)

Microsoft Office 2007 license?

I would like to know, if i've installed a microsoft office into my computer and register myself at microsoft website can i re-install back into my computer later on? Let say my computer crash and i've format it and i need to re-install all the software, so can i just re-install back my original copy of microsoft office 2007 that i bought earlier? in the same computer......

Microsoft Office 2007 license?
Yes long as you have the same key
Reply:you can re-install Microsoft office 2007 as many times as you want.
Reply:yes you can, you can use 1 copy per one computer at one time, make sure you use your same serial number whenever you reinstall it

Microsoft Office Online Web Design?

I've decided to start up my business website with Microsoft Office Online. I've going to purchase a domain name but I want to be clear what features are available.

Also, is going with Microsoft Office Online the best solution for a small business like mine. My business is a spare parts for all automobiles shop.

If you feel Microsoft Office is not the best, please can you give alternatives.

Microsoft Office Online Web Design?
It depends on how much freedom you might want with your site. I was using Office Online for a while but didnt like the way the site was laid out. It didnt give you any control over visitors or tracking abilities and even content.

I went to http://www.dot5hosting.com because they just have so much more features. But that is something that I was willing to do. For simple setup and design go with the Office Online. It is easy and fun to do but if you are an advanced web user then you might want something more.

I need help with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint?

I bought a Microsoft Office 2007 book in college........because I can't find the old copy, such as Microsoft Office 2003 or 2004. I don't have Microsoft Office 2007, such as Word 2007, Excel 2007, and PowerPoint 2007. I wonder if I can do the assignments in Microsoft Word 2003, Microsoft Excel 2003, and Microsoft PowerPoint 2003. What should I do? Should I just fail my class?

I need help with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint?
Microsoft Word, Excel and powerpoint 2007 are mostly exactly the same as 2003 and 2004 etc. I don't understand why you would fail a class just because you have a earlier version of a program?
Reply:you can still use that book and besides since your having an updated version, you have the advantage. There are some changes in office 2007 such as the file format, as you noticed instead of .doc, .xls..it will now be .docx or .xlsx in office 2007 wherein if you have tried saving it in the said format you can't open in the ealier version of office unless saving it as office 2003 or lower format.

Microsoft Visual C++ Error C2447?
I am conversant with earlier versions of Visual C++ and am sure they would run if you removed the semicolon after the function main(). All the best!
Reply:Your code is incorrect and the program can't read it. That's why your getting the error message. I don't know much about C++ but there is a book I used once and it was very helpful called "C++ for Dummies" don't let the word dummies trick you it has lots of information and will assit you. Microsoft Contraceptives?

Microsoft Corporation has taken another step toward dominating

every aspect of American life with the introduction of

Contraceptive 98, a suite of applications designed for users who

engage in sex.

Microsoft has been a pioneer in peer-to-peer connectivity and

plug and play. It believes these technologies will give it

substantial leverage in penetrating the copulation enhancement

market.

The product addresses two important user concerns: the need for

virus protection and the need for a firewall to ensure the

non-propagation of human beings.

The Contraceptive98 suite consists of three products: Condom 98,

DeFetus 1.0 (from Sementec), and AIDScan 2.1 (from Norton

Utilities).

A free copy of Intercourse Explorer 4.0 is bundled in the

package. The suite also comes in two expanded versions.

Contraceptive 98 Professional is the Client/Server edition, for

professionals in the sexual services sector. Contraceptive98

Small Business Edition is a package for start-ups, aimed at the

housewife and gigolo niches.

While Contraceptive 98 does not address non-traditional

copulatory channels, future plug-ins are planned for next year.

They will be known as BackDoor, AuraLee, TitElation, and JerkOff.

OPERATION

Only one node in a peer-to-peer connection needs to install the

package. At installation, the Condom98 software checks for

minimum hardware. If the user meets the requirements, the product

installs and is sufficiently scaleable to meet most requirements.

After installation, operation commences. One caution is that the

user must have sufficient RAM to complete the session. When the

session is complete, a disconnect is initiated, and the user gets

the message, "It is now safe to turn off your partner."

DRAWBACKS

Usability testers report that frequent failures were a major

concern during beta testing. General Protection Fault was the

most serious error encountered. Early versions had numerous bugs,

but most of these have been eliminated. The product needs to be

installed each time its used.

CONCLUSION

Contraceptive 98 is a robust product. Despite its drawbacks, it

is a reasonably good value for its $49.95 price tag, and is far

superior to its shareware version. Hopefully, future releases (of

the software, that is) will add missing functionality, such as

Backout and Restore, Uninterruptible Power Supply, and Onboard

Camera.

Microsoft CEO Bill Gates is optimistic about Contraceptive 98s

potential. He recently said, "Our contraceptive products will

help users do to each other what we've been doing to our

customers for years."

Microsoft Office Outlook 2003!!! HELP!!! (please)?

It simply won't open, an error message pops up saying "The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." then after I click ok it goes to another box which says something about Microsoft Exchange Server (I think this may be where the problem lies - i wrote Mel in the box) but it simply won't load and then shuts.

And a new box just popped up saying "Unable to open your default email folders. The file C:\Users\Melanie\AppData\Local\Microsoft... is not an offline file folder"

Microsoft Office Outlook 2003!!! HELP!!! (please)?
Sounds like your Outlook is not configured correctly. When you get to the second box make sure that the Exchange server is typed in correctly (you may need to get the name of the Exchange server from your IT dept). Also, instead of typing in Mel for the mailbox name, type in your last name, first name. Give it a few seconds and if you name becomes underlined then you are ready to go.

How do I change from Open Office to Microsoft Office?

I really really like Microsoft Office. However, when I got Windows Vista, it didn't have Microsoft Office 7, which I really wanted. So, I downloaded OpenOffice. OpenOffice looks really similar and can read Microsoft Office documents, but does not have as many options and such. OpenOffice is nothing bad, in fact, it's good because it's free, and is very similar to the older verions of Microsoft Office. Now, I'm going to start begging my parents to get me Microsoft Office 07. I don't care if I have to pay. Even though, my question is: Right now I set that whenever I download a Microsoft Office file, it opens it with OpenOffice. But if I do get Microsoft Office, I want to abandon OpenOffice and use Microsoft Office when opening one of its own files. The question in, how do I change and set it to open downloaded files as a Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.?

How do I change from Open Office to Microsoft Office?
you would just change the default program for opening word documents, excel spreadsheets, etc with microsoft office. you should be able to change this in the default programs section. I can't remember where it is in Vista but do a search for it.
Reply:Just install the new MS Office. It'll take over. Don't worry about it.

Microsoft & Xbox 360 Virus Coverup!?

The year old Microsoft 360 has now hundreds of thousands of destroyed systems due to the mandatory "Fall Update". Thousands on the xbox.com forums alone have destroyed systems due to this quick downloaded "update".

The "Fall Update" causes game systems to freeze between 5 and 10 minutes into gameplay, and the only thing that can be done is unplug the system, or manually restart it.

To stop from hurting christmas sales, Microsoft has not fixed the problem effecting hundreds of thousands, if not millions of gamers world wide.

Instead, Microsoft is charging gamers $140 to remove the software update.

Microsoft %26amp; Xbox 360 Virus Coverup!?
Yea this is pissing me off.. Xbox 360 is a GREAT console with amazing games and capabilities.. Sucks to see it being wasted by Microcrap..

Makes me want to buy a PS3 or a Wii..
Reply:If they dont fix it that just means a ton of xbox's returned to vendors for either a refund or a new xbox...thanks for the heads up though. OBTW as for the $140 to remove the software update I bet you would be able to find someone out there that can do it cheaper in your city
Reply:I've had my xbox 360 since January 1st, and i have had absolutly 100% no problems.

Microsoft Visual Studio / .NET - What are application design functionalities within the Microsoft suite?

Microsoft Visual Studio / .NET - What are application design functionalities within the Microsoft suite?
Im not sure if i understand your question, but im guessing you mean the free software from them. Microsoft has released a whole line of products free to the public, known as the express line. They have C# and VB, as well as ASP.NET and SQL Server. Just depends on what you're looking for. They are all free, and fairly easy to learn. Hope this helps.

Microsoft operating system caches secret surveillance programs on China?

On June 5th, China.com published an article titled "Attention: Microsoft Stealing Chinese state secrets,": which immediately became a hot topic for discussion. Is Microsoft's operating system, reported by Norton through the "back door":, built with a secret surveillance program on China by the United States government? Here, I will call it the "Backdoor": Incident. I think Microsoft should give us an explanation.

http://english.people.com.cn/200706/25/t...

====================

It's an interesting read and maybe China has a legitimate gripe.

.

Microsoft operating system caches secret surveillance programs on China?
I tend to believe it's true, US and China has been spying each other for 60 years, so it's not a big surprise.

Every government spies on its own citizen though, no matter what country, If you wonder why, go read Milan Kundera's "The unbearable lightness of being".
Reply:I think it is a stupid move on Microsoft part, putting into jeaprody billions of dollars of revenue. Maybe the best way to look at this is say, "not likely" and the back door that was discovered won't amount to much.

Jim

Reply:The pot is calling the kettle black, lol!
Reply:America has a history of underhanded tactics, a country can't get any more sneaky than America, they're the masters of deceit. The American government will spy on their own civilians, so what stops them from doing it to other countries? nothing, because the guys controlling the country have no conscience.
Reply:Haven't they already gotten in trouble for doing this like 5 years ago?

Yes they're spying on China. The government of China is pissed off because they don't want to have to explain how they kill five million poor chinese farmers every year and turn them into soap and pillows using the old nazi recipe.

Anyway, what do you care? A nuclear exchange between America and China will kill us before we even know it started. So either we'll never see it coming or China should shut up and make their own operating system.

I mean, you don't see me downloading software made by 'the m4st3r pir4t3 king$' to store all my credit card information and then throw a fit when I find out it's stealing my identity.

China needs to STFU and realize Americans aren't going to stop being douche bags because they want to be anonymous. ****, americans dont even let their own people be anonymous anymore. Why should the Chinese deserve better treatment than the American people?

If they don't like it, tell them to assasinate Bush and put Fidel Castro in power. Problem solved.

Why are we discussing this?

Microsoft and System Restore [Simple Issue]?

Alright, I have this problem where BAD_POOL_HEADER emerges. I'm using a Dimension 2350 and I've had this problem for years, ever since I was a little child in the 3rd grade. But my father always fixed it with system restore. My father doesn't live with me anymore and BAD_POOL_HEADER re-appears, this time, I can't use system restore. My system restore is turned off and I can't turn it on because my system dumps physical memory after it boots up and I type my password. Everytime the system dumps physical memory it of course freezes all applications and then eventually BAD_POOL_HEADER emerges. It instructs me to use Safe Mode and do a system restore there but Safe Mode states that you can't turn on system restore in Safe Mode then restart your computer in normal to turn it off. But the problem is... I can't do that. My father says I can use my Microsoft CD and do a system restore with it. But my Microsoft CD is gone. Where can I get(link) or order a microsoft CD that does system restore?

Microsoft and System Restore [Simple Issue]?
I guess there is some hardware / registry problem on your computer. You should create a backup of all your important data, music and videos and then reinstall your Windows operating system. As you don't have a Windows installer disc, you may borrow one from your friend (during installation, remember to use YOUR CD key; you can note it down from My Computer %26gt; Properties). This will most probably get rid of the problem. If it's still there, you have got some hardware issues (either old system or some defective parts).

HELP

Microsoft Word Product Key help?
If you lost your key, and your product is registered properly with Microsoft, you should be able to contact them in regards to the missing key, and they can give you a new one.

In the event that you can't get your key back, don't want to risk any illegal cracker programs, and still really need a good Word-esque program, I personally recommend OpenOffice. It does everything that Microsoft Word and Office does, but it's legally free. It's a great alternative if you don't want to shovel a pocketload of cash to Microsoft for more of their products.

And the program is even Vista compatible, which is a rarity for anything anymore.
Reply:Yes you can with this small program (no installation needed)

http://www.download.com/3001-2094_4-1066...

However, using Office on those two computers might break the EULA depending on which version you have. (Though I'm sure Microsoft doesn't really care)

Microsoft Office Professional installation problem?

I have microsoft office Professional installed on my pc. I have now a lap top. Both are working off the same wireless router. The system has been set up to 'synchronize' so whatever is on one goes to the other and whatever is on the other goes to the one. I went to install Microsoft Office. The set up is successful. The problem occurs with the installation. It tells me that this is on 'another' computer. Is it because of the what these two computers are set up with the synchronizing? How can i get this microsoft office on to my new lap top ( i am nto so crazy about Open Office)

Microsoft Office Professional installation problem?
Well unless u bought 2 licenses, Windows doesn't recognize the second computer as having a registered copy of its software, that's how they try to stop Software Pirates
Reply:They won't give you a key, but they'll sell you one.
Reply:you need to call Microsoft customer service and have them give you a new code to allow you to install to more than one computer.

Microsoft word problems...?

i wanted to type up a paper so i pulled up microsoft word and for someweird reason it wanted the code thing thats on the back on the cd case so i looked for it but i can't find it so i closed out of the thing and tried to use microsoft word and it wouldn't let me... can someone give me a code for microsoft word to i can use it? would it work?

Microsoft word problems...?
No it wouldn't. That "code thing" is unique to every installation.
Reply:That's your license. You need your license to use Word. Eventually if you start Word 25 times then your Word program becomes a viewer. Look on the back of the Word CD case and you should find it. No one's probably going to give you theirs.

P.S. This sometimes happens with pirate copies of Word.
Reply:What version of Office program are you using?
Reply:Weird reason, eh? Can't find the code, eh? Here's your answer: Get your lying *** to Staples and buy a legitimate copy of Word.
Reply:download the code from limewire or something like that.

I do have a code, but i don't know where it is, sorry!

Reports: Microsoft pursuing Yahoo (IF THIS ACQUISITION IS .SEALED I WILL QUIT YAHOO FOR GOOGLE...)?

I just read this today (05/04/2007) from the following link on yahoo....http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070504/ap_o...

I think this is really sickening to my bowels, by the fact that microsoft wants to buy yahoo. I am really against this idea and it does not stand upto Yahoo's mission statement of "to connect people to their passions, their communities and the world's knowledge" One reason yahoo has turned out to be a great site is the way it has tailored its service to the common man, and its continued pursuit of excellence. Microsoft has turned all its services into money sucking schemes, that there is virtualy nothing for free to the common man. That is one reason they don't have e.g. good chatrooms like yahoo's, e-mail and knews. If you are reading this and you love yahoo, please lets protest this idea of microsoft buying or continuing to associate with yahoo in any capacity whatsoever! This monster should not be let to acquire Yahoo. Pass this to everyone please!

Reports: Microsoft pursuing Yahoo (IF THIS ACQUISITION IS .SEALED I WILL QUIT YAHOO FOR GOOGLE...)?
I do not believe that protests, however massive they may be, would change anything in regard to this matter. I share your opinion about Microsoft, but I suspect that if Billyboy offers Yahoo enough money, the owners will accept sooner or later...
Reply:There's nothing wrong with microsoft, or yahoo they both have lots of problems, just like everyother company does Yahoo also has money sucking schemes as you say yahoo charges for a lot of things. also if microsoft names the right price i bet yahoo would sell money talks, anybody will sell anything if they get the price they want

Microsoft or Dell?

Received a phone call from a young broker, practically begging me to buy stock with him. I don't really need a broker, do my own research and buy/sell through Schwab.

I never buy large amounts of a high priced stock in fear of something going wrong and then coming up with a thousand(s)$ loss.

He kept telling me that Dell was going to go up soon. The insiders were buying it. My instincts said he was wrong. I told him Dell is like too many fish in a little pond.

We kept conversing a long time, then I said I like Microsoft instead.

The young stockbroker agreed. I bought 200 shares of Microsoft.

I'm ahead about several hundred bucks with Microsoft, but had I listened to his advice, I'd be in the tank on Dell for about eight hundred bucks in a two week period of owning it.

I still like the broker since he was right with a put situation before.

If you were me, what would you say to him next time about Dell?

Microsoft or Dell?
I don't think the broker really cares about what happens with Dell. He just wanted to pitch some stock and make commissions off that. But that's another story.

Just go with the same story. Dell won't have improved much by the time he calls next. Maybe he'll get the picture that he'll need fresh ideas instead of rehashing old stories.
Reply:I would say that Dell is the worst computer maker is in the world Cos you cant vind it in the shops it is very difficult to get it repaired if its broken.
Reply:I'd say "To Dell with it!"

this makes no sense! 2 hours ago these things did work - I tried adding the direct X refs again to n avail - if any programmers have a sugestion please help!!!

Microsoft DirectX SDK?
I don't program in Visual Basic, but it seems that VB cannot find the DirectX library files. That's why you get 'not defined' errors.

You said you had to 'redo' your computer. What did you do? Did you move VB or the SDK installation to some other drive or folder?

I don't know much about VB, but maybe you can check VB's settings and make sure that it knows the proper folders for the DirectX libraries.

I think the SDK has an option of automatically setting the folder locations for VB and Microsoft C++ when you install the SDK. Maybe the installer screwed up and you have to set the locations manually.
Reply:SDK is the developer version. You installed the wrong version my friend. Just uninstall it and install this end-user one:

Microsoft Word Problem?

I have an assignment for my IT class, and the professor wants us to turn in the file as ".docx".

I'm assuming that is on Microsoft 2007, which I don't have. People tell me to download the trial version for now. Others tell me when I save the file just to save it as "Name.docx" Would typing it just work? Or do I need Microsoft 2007. I'm planning on buyinga new laptop soon, they come with Vista and all the new Microsoft Office Applications, so I'll have it soon, but in the mean time do I download the trial version, or does it work typing ".docx" manually when I save the file? Thanks for any help, much appreciated!

docx refers to a word 2007 document.

Reply:Saving as a .docx file won't produce .docx FORMAT. Some people think that the file name is what's important. It's not.

A trial version for now is the way to go. As someone else said, it should be good for 25 uses or 30-, 60- or 90- days. Check the license agreement for specifics.

Hope that helps.
Reply:.docx is a Office 2007 word's file extension. Now the software is easily available is the market it works on xp also. You can download trail version if you want.
Reply:For now, I would download the trial version. By the way, new computers do not come with a full version of Office, just a trial. Usually this trial version allows you to open it 25 times, and then you'll have to pay for it or it won't function.
Reply:Why not download the trial version and also, in case you don't want to do that, the compatibility programme. Incidentally, you are under a misapprehension. You will not get Office on your computer unless you.pay for it. You will get Vista yes, and if you're lucky you will be given Works, but they are not going to give you a £600 package of Office 2007 with all the programs in it. Student version you can get for under £100 but it only has Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote

Microsoft Works documents on Mac?

I just got an email with a document attached from a friend. She had written some paper that she wanted me to read. Anyway, she said that the paper was created using microsoft works b/c that's all she had on her computer. I have a mac and Microsoft office.. so I have word.. I keep trying to open the document but the computer keeps saying that no program is able to open it. Clearly microsoft works is some foreign entity that I've never heard of. Is there anyway to convert the file so that I can view it?

Microsoft Works documents on Mac?
Firstly you are a legend for have os x leopard (i to have leopard - quite amazing yes?)

It takes up a lot of space but if you can download NeoOffice it is a free office suite and it can open every format under the sun, if that doesn't work tell your friend to send it as a RTF document so you can defiantly open it :) Any troubles come back to me :)

Microsoft Word unable to launch?

I've had Microsoft Word ever since I bought this computer and now it's giving me trouble. Everytime I try to open it lately, a little window pops up, "installing" Microsoft Word. Then it asks for the Microsoft Word 2002 installation disk, which didn't come with the PC, and so it refuses to cooperate.

What's happened to my program, and what can I do?

Microsoft Word unable to launch?
Maybe you'll have 2 reinstall it, download it from somewhere...

Microsoft Access!?

I live in Long Island, NY. I would like to learn Microsoft Access, do you any College or others organizations that offers Microsoft Access courses to learn effectively and efficiently?

I'm using Microsoft Access at work, but I know just a little bit, I'm kind of learning in my own! I created so far some table, simple queries and reports, but I would like to know more and understand better!

Thank you!

Microsoft Access!?
To understand Access, you should be thorough with database concepts and SQL. Remaining everything is a piece of cake. You can search any problem with Access on Google or Yahoo!

OR you can download an e-book on Access.

Should Microsoft Go for Open Source?

I am fan of Microsoft.I am a .Net developer.I love programming in .Net framework.I know the basics of Java,J2ee,Ejb etc..I recently started thinking about Linux. When I compared the Kernels of Both I have to accept the Hard fact that Linux is more powerfull than Windows.I started thinking why Giant Microsoft is unable to Make Powerfull Kernel like Linux. So the Question arised should Microsoft go for Open Source and If they are not going for It what is the reason behind it.I really want to know ur Views,Ideas from a user and Developers Point of View.Microsoft new O.S Windows Vista is really powerfull when compared to Linux or Linux is still the powerfull O.S in this World.

Should Microsoft Go for Open Source?
You already asked this!

I say again:

Linux is used by a lot of technical users. They are not very user friendly for people who just want to use the internet to browse and download things easily.

Linux is more for programmers and technical people who is familiar with at least one programming language, most especially unix.

I think if Microsoft goes for open source, then they will target the tech users, but it wont be their #1 consumer.
Reply:Microsoft key products are its office applications and it would be econimically negligent to its shareholders if they made those applications open source.

But Development tools may be a good idea to open source

The next operating system I will be looking purchasing Apples X
Reply:Microsoft is already making a lot of money. They dont need to have other promotions for their product.

Microsoft or Apple?

Ok we are going to have a Poll Here - Who likes Microsoft or who likes Apple?

Just comment saying Microsoft Or Apple... unless you want to go into detial.

So let me Start... I choose: Microsoft, Vista all the WAY!

Microsoft or Apple?
mac or linux
Reply:Apple. I use Windows primarily, I don't even own a Mac, but I see the signs: Office has had NO SIGNIFICANT improvement since 2000, Windows is not secure (nor is any other operating system), and aside of the Internet, the era of the 'killer app' is over. Microsoft is running out of innovation: everything useful that a PC does is on the internet. The longer that people use the internet the less that a computer will discern itself from any other: they're all clients.

Apple: easier to use, simplified interface, well-put-together. The only hindrance to getting a Macintosh is simple: the price tag. Microsoft has only one remaining advantage over Apple and it's the price tag. To keep it that way, they're shorting innovation over affordability, where Apple continues to make advancements, even now. Microsoft will only innovate far enough ahead of Apple to keep itself cheap. Beyond that, there's no 'pith' to it's business practices or development.
Reply:apple has less viruses and spyware and windows vista applications are almost the same as apple pcs (but have more viruses), but I personally like windows you can download more programs..

microsoft office 2007 is basically the same thing as older versions, but the OS has more things you can personalize..

go 2 youtube.com and look up windows vista youll be surpised how much info u learn ther
Reply:Apple!!!

Much more user-friendly, plus get never gets viruses.
Reply:Mac OS X Tiger

-It is better designed

-Better sleep mode

-Better computer shape

-Better graphics

-Faster

-Less prone to viruses
Reply:Microsoft for all except video editing

Pitty neither of them are that great
Reply:This post is retarded. If it doesn't start a flame, it'll start large descriptive paragraphs of useless opinion and preference.

Microsoft is giving 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 1 (SP1) which is 620 mb is there anyway?
Have used other such downloads in this way by saving it to the computer and then copying to a CD. When installing, copy it from the CD to the target computer and run it as if you had downloaded it to a saved file.

Microsoft Hey! Me and my cousin is having a debate about Microsoft.?

She says that Microsoft is a bully because no one can Microsoft is a genius because the cater to the consumer I would like to put this fued to an end so everyone needs to agree with me. No sure just kidding. We really need your help so I can show her i was right.

Microsoft Hey! Me and my cousin is having a debate about Microsoft.?
Microsoft is just a great big company. The reason she thinks Microsoft is a bully is far from clear. Neither of you know what you are speaking of. Drop the foolish argument.
Reply:Microsoft is so strong they don't need to cater to the consumer.

Microsoft word 2007 question...?

On my laptop I have Microsoft Office word 2007 and because i do not have a printer for my laptop, i put my file from my laptop on to a USB flash drive so i could print from my home computer. The problem is though that i have Microsoft Office Word 2003 on my home computer. without downloading microsoft 2007, is there any way i can print from my home computer?

Microsoft word 2007 question...?
Yep on your laptop instead of saving your document as a .docx (ms office 2007 format) file you can choose the option to save it as a word 97-03 document. Or you can still open up the file in word 2003 but it will ask you to download a compatibility pack.
Reply:To make it easier, download the converter from Microsoft. Here's the link:

Microsoft Excel help! Book.xlt keeps saving itself as my microsoft startup workbook! Is it a virus?!?

When i open a microsoft excel workbook, it auto opens 255 worksheet. Even after I adjusted the settings to 3 worksheets, after i close the workbook, the same thing happens again the next time i launch excel. There seems to be hidden macros running, and when i go to program files\microsoft office\office11\xlstart, i will find this book.xlt file in the folder. Even after i delete it, it will appear again the next time i launch excel. Gosh. Can anyone help? is this a virus? :(

Microsoft Excel help! Book.xlt keeps saving itself as my microsoft startup workbook! Is it a virus?!?
The .xlt files are templates--not workbooks--so editing your options to limit new files to 3 sheets will not work. Somewhere along the way a user created Book.xlt and saved certain settings with it...and you are reaping the benefits.

The procedure you use to open excel is calling a template, so you need a different procedure. If you have a shortcut on your desktop, I say delete it. Copy the shortcut from your start menu to your desktop, and test it. If you continue to have the same problem, check the macros in your Personal Workbook.

The Personal workbook is a hidden file that opens every time you run an Excel application, and there can only be one open at any time. If you do not have a macro stored in the Personal.xls workbook, and you are not calling Excel via a template shortcut....then it's time to uninstall/reinstall.
Reply:I had a look at Excel for this problem and cannot find anything.

Do an online virus check at this URL:

Then download this, update and run it.

These should clear any visus you may have.
Reply:Open Excel, go to Tools, Options, General tab. Type in number of sheets you want in a spreadsheet, and click on OK. close Excel and then open it again, you may try opening the problem spread sheet and then copy those sheets you want into the new one, you can add new sheets if required, then save it with a different name, close Excel and then re-open the new file. you can rename it to the old file later. the format of your problem file may be defaulted to 255 sheets in the file, in its option record..
Reply:it may be a virus, or just a problem with Excel. i'd suggest doing a system restore to before you started having those problems. system restore is in program files

Microsoft unfair with public?

I read an article that Microsoft will end support on the XP platform in two years and everyone will have upgrade to Vista,so there goes more money for Microsoft.Do you think Microsoft is unfair to the public by making you buy Vista since there's hardly any problem with XP home edition?

Microsoft unfair with public?
I think you might have misread that, it was Windows 95 that will no longer be supported.
Reply:Their tech support is virtually non-existent. XP has lots of bugs in it. OF COURSE they hate us!
Reply:Just call your computer manufactures tech support when you have a problem with your computer You don't have to call Microsoft every time you have a problem. When ever I have a problem I e-mail hp or chat online with them, and that's all for free. Or and I can them.
Reply:their reference library will still be available you can still research problems if you have them
Reply:Not really, all software vendors end support of older products. They can't support an old platform forever. I'm sure the lifecycle of XP will go on longer than 2 more years though. Maybe they are ending the support for WIndows 2000 then.
Reply:It's the same with win 98, ME etc etc, they just stop having support for it , you don't have to update if you don't want to.

I am sure you know people that are still using 98, ME etc and they are possibly happy right?

Look ms have a very unfair system with everything they make/sell, it all comes down to whether you want t use it and if you don't then go to a different o/s.
Reply:They only say that they will stop support. They say that because of the fact that all earlier versions cannot be supported by them in the future.Microsoft has alredy withdrew its support for win 95 and will be withdrawing its support for win 98 in a week.In case you dont have a problem with MS XP home continue using it.Or convert to red hat linux 7. Its totally free and 100 % secure.

But i agree with you. They cant ask us to buy vista. They could give it to us for a cheaper rate.
Reply:I think Microsoft is like any other giant company. All they care about is money. Doesn't make any difference if it's MS or an oil company. The consumer controls supply and demand.

If everyone (no exceptions, EVERYONE) stopped buying gasoline for two days, we would see prices come down. If everyone (no exceptions, EVERYONE) switched to Linux, MS would lower it's prices, give better tech support, and treat us like valued customers instead of a bunch of ignorant fools who don't know anything.

But this is NOT going to happen any time soon. We can't even get people in the same household to agree on what TV shows to watch so how can we get an entire country (or world) to work together? We can't and we will continue to suffer at the hands of Microsoft, oil companies, etc.

But there's one small problem to my suggestion. Once we end the boycott and resume purchasing from MS, they will go right back to their old ways and to punish us, they will probably raise prices, cut back on their already non-existent customer support, and make life even worse for the consumer.

Why would they do that? Because they can and because we will let them get away with it. The average consumer would rather pay more for less than to stand up and fight.
Reply:how else will they trick people in to upgrading to an OS that offers nothing expect fancy GUI tricks
Reply:its not fair
Reply:NO NOT AT ALL MICROSOFT ARE VERY FARE AND VERY HELPFULL TO PEOPLE

Downloading microsoft office word viewer 2003?

I recently purchased windows vista and I had a trial version of microsoft office word 2007 but it has expired and I don't have the additional money to pay for the full version so I tried downloading first microsoft word view 2003 and then open office org.2.2 and I still can't get either one to work. I keep getting the microsoft office word 2007 when I want to correct my son's essay that he forward to me. Can someone tell me if I need to disable microsoft office word 2007 first or what steps I need to do in order to get into either program working that I downloaded???

Downloading microsoft office word viewer 2003?
If you have Open Office installed open the document in Open Office by ight clicking it and choosing open with Open Office.

and make sure anyone who is saving a file for you saves it in

Word 97 or xp until open office launches it's new version which will read office 2007 files.
Reply:Download openoffice from http://www.openoffice.org

It is free and compatible with Microsoft Office.

Just because it is free, doesn't mean it isn't a quality program!!!
Reply:OpenOffice cannot open the new file format of office 2007. The Viewer 2003 only helps you view the document file of MS office 2003, you need a new one 2007.
