Microsoft office basic edition 2003?

why when i try to open Microsoft office basic edition 2003, a message always comes up saying Windows Installer...Preparing to install. it pops up all the time when i try to open Microsoft word n when i click install, another message comes up saying This patch package could not be opened.


"Verify the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."





but when i click ok Microsoft word does open at all





whAT can i do to stop the message n get word to open... it stop working all of a sudden when my friend download powerpoint on my computer which lasts for 2 months and it seems like my permanent stuff is gone n that temporary thing is left....but sometimes it do open but it takes like 15 - 30 mins until it opens omg i have mad papers to write n i cant even use my own stuff

Reply:To the rescue. Download the open source program called Open Office, it is free and can do everything Microsoft office can do and yes you can import ms files to it and save ms type of files.
