I am looking for assistance in researchign the application design (not construction/build) ortions of the Microsoft suite? Unfortunately they have so much content on their web site it is too difficult to find what I am looking for. If you can assist in pointing out to me what the app design capabilities are using microsoft products and where I could possibly get more information it would be appreciated.

Im not sure if i understand your question, but im guessing you mean the free software from them. Microsoft has released a whole line of products free to the public, known as the express line. They have C# and VB, as well as ASP.NET and SQL Server. Just depends on what you're looking for. They are all free, and fairly easy to learn. Hope this helps.
