Microsoft optical trackball explorer warranty?

i have purchased two in the last year and a half. only to have both of them die within 6 months. they are expensive $50+ USD if you can find them in the store. It was the best I have ever used while they lasted. is to worth taking the time sending it of to back microsoft. or should I just grin and bear it. have any of you ever had this problem with a microsoft optical trackball explorer. or any other piece of microsoft hardware? tell me your experince with microsoft

If it is still covered under warranty, you should definitely send it back. Microsoft is very good about standing behind their products.
