Microsoft word refuses to open!!!?

I have a problem with Microsoft Word. Everytime i try to open a document or try to make a new document i get a error message telling me this 'There is not enough memory or disk space to run Word'.

Yesterday, the power got cut of while i was using the computer (the power supply wire was pulled out). I tried switching the computer on and that blue screen came up and told me that the disk was checking for errors. I had to do this 3 times and the third time there were millions of errors and it took 3 hours to load up.

Msn messenger wasnt working yesterday after the power had been cut off but i re-installed it and it started working fine. Surely i dont have to re-install Microsoft Word... Where am i supposed to get that from?! What can i do to make Microsoft word work again?

Its an emergancy!!

When you disconnected the power that way you probably damaged the computer. You may have damaged both the motherboard and your hard drive, I suspect the RAM (random access memory, usually in the form of DIMMs sometimes called memory sticks) might be damaged too. Word would probably use RAM and that's why you'd be having the problem you have. You probably need to take it to a computer repair shop.

Surge protectors help if there's a problem with the power on your house current and wiring, like during a storm that causes a power outage. They aren't perfect, and if you pull out the power supply wire on the side that plugs into the computer, it won't help.

Better than a surge protector is a UPS, which stands for Uninterruptible Power Supply. It's essentially a combination surge protector and battery backup. The idea is that in a power outage, the UPS will beep to let you know you've lost power, and at the same time provide usually 15 to 30 minutes of battery power to let you shut things down properly.
Reply:Hello ,

Sometimes you can repair . Navigate %26gt; Star/Control Panel/Addor Remove Programs/Click Microsoft Word/click "Change" and look at the options -or- if "Repair" is visable , click "Repair" . Also sounds like you need to go to your PCs manufaturers' website and run a Diagnostic scan . Check all updates available for your PC at that website after the scan . I am sure there are devices needing updated . May be serious damages to your PC and running a diagnostic scan will be your first step of troubleshooting .
Reply:Buy more memory and a new hard drive. Ask some people how to install it, and Word will work fine.

Reply:Your motherboard may be fried. Do you have it connected to a surge protector? If not, that could be the reason. I suggest you trying to uninstall the program and then reinstalling it. If that doesn't work you are going to have to have it professionally restored by a computer tech.
