Microsoft Word 2000 suddenly won't start. Screen goes blank with Word banner at top, but application hangs forever unless terminated. I uninstalled and re-installed (twice) but no change. Have all current updates from Microsoft. When Word hangs, Windows Task Manager shows it consuming about 50% of CPU time. Can halt program using Task Manager or the X on the upper right of Word works too - gives "this program is not responding" message box and allows "end now". Other than that, I get no error messages of any kind. Any suggestions about how I might troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated (Microsoft no longer supports 2000 version)
