Downloading microsoft office word viewer 2003?

I recently purchased windows vista and I had a trial version of microsoft office word 2007 but it has expired and I don't have the additional money to pay for the full version so I tried downloading first microsoft word view 2003 and then open office org.2.2 and I still can't get either one to work. I keep getting the microsoft office word 2007 when I want to correct my son's essay that he forward to me. Can someone tell me if I need to disable microsoft office word 2007 first or what steps I need to do in order to get into either program working that I downloaded???

If you have Open Office installed open the document in Open Office by ight clicking it and choosing open with Open Office.

and make sure anyone who is saving a file for you saves it in

Word 97 or xp until open office launches it's new version which will read office 2007 files.
Reply:Download openoffice from http://www.openoffice.org

It is free and compatible with Microsoft Office.

Just because it is free, doesn't mean it isn't a quality program!!!
Reply:OpenOffice cannot open the new file format of office 2007. The Viewer 2003 only helps you view the document file of MS office 2003, you need a new one 2007.
