Converting Microsoft word files!?

Is it possible to convert microsoft word '95 files into microsoft word xp? or will the microsoft word '95 files work with microsoft word xp? thanks

Converting Microsoft word files!?
I have Word XP, and I just looked at the File-%26gt;Open menu item. It does have a file type for Word 6/95, so I think it will read them in just fine. If you then want to save them as Word XP, just do a Save As with the .doc type.

Hope that helps.
Reply:You should be able to open them in Word XP. Just open the Word program, click on the [File] [Open] menu choices. You should be able to see the file names through the regular menu.

Be aware, if you save them as Word XP, then you or anyone else will not be able to open them in a previous versions. Office programs typically work going forward, i.e., opening older version documents in a newer versions software. However, you cannot typically go backwards.
Reply:i don't think so
