Microsoft Word Problem?

I dont know why, but my computer doesn't have microsoft word, it only has notepad on it and I have to go all the way to my school and use the computer lab to type word documents. I was wondering if I could type my paper on notepad, save it to a memory stick and take it to school and open it with microsoft word. I know that the format on notepad is different from microsoft word but I figured that maybe I could rearrange it when I get to school.

Microsoft Word Problem?
You may find that WORDPAD is a better choice. You can do more formatting with the text. Also, you can save as a .doc.

WORDPAD should be located in the same Accessories folder with Notepad. If it isn't there you can activate it: C:\Program Files\Accessories\wordpad.exe. If you right click and choose "pin to start menu" you can access it when you click START.

Notepad is the basic word processing program. Wordpad is the next step up in features, and WORD is top of the line.
Reply:Download Open Office Suite .... that would be best ... It's free and will work with Word

Reply:Windows does not come with MS Word.

You could do that or you could download Open Office.
Reply:When you save your Notebook file, it will be saved as a

.txt file.

When you open the file on the school computer in Word,

open the file as a .txt file and then save it as a .doc

(Word) file.

Hope that's not insulting, just trying to be helpful.
Reply:yes save it to a memory stick but don't open it in Microsoft word, open it in notepad THEN copy an paste into a word document at school :)
Reply:Yes. 100% compatible and a good idea.

There are free Office clone applications that you might consider as these include spellcheck and a few other features (far fewer than Office) but perhaps suitable.
