Microsoft 2007- Vista?

Hi there- Like many people are there Im completely lost when it come to the new microsoft Vista- Im unsure on whether I should buy the microsoft windows 2007- As i really need a word document to use. But I dont want to upgrade tothe new Vista Windows because its kinda of expensive- where as you can get the microsoft 2007 for around £100 Pounds.

What do you think I should do?

Microsoft 2007- Vista?
too bad youre not here right now bcuz ill give u a free copy of microsoft 07...y free? bcuz i also got it for free lol..which is pretty nice...it has variety of programs like onenote, sorta like a notebook u could write anywhere on the page...
Reply:Unless you are going to replace your computer with a new one, or do a serious, expensive upgrade, you won't be able to run Vista. I don't know if Office 2007 will run on XP, but I do know it isn't worth the price asked for it.

If you simply have to have a word processor, why not use the OpenOffice suite by Sun Microsystems. It has everything Office does, it's just free, and Office isn't.

Reply:Microsoft Office 2007 should run on at least XP, 2000 and Vista.... I believe it was created for Vista so should be a problem. Try E-bay for MS Office.... or... if you go to the MS site, you should be able to get the Student/teacher edition fairly inexpensively.

I wouldn't upgrade to Vista till SP-2
Reply:VISIT.,
Reply:Please can you confirm that you are currently using:

Windows xp

Office 2003

You question seems to contradict halfway through.

All I can suggest is:

Stay with xp

Upgrade to Office 2007 (optional)

Vista is terrible.

The operating system is awkward and slow and the technical help as of yet is very limited.

As for Office 2007, Office 2003 will work just as well however there are some optional features to Office 2007 that to certain users might appeal to.

There also seems to be some confusion:

Office 2007 will work with xp with:

Service pack two

Specifications required for Vista (most systems show a vista compatible logo)

All the best

Reply:We've just got Vsta and Office 2007 and it's great but if you've got XP you might need to be carefull as Office 2007 is made for Vista but you can run it on XP. Check with your IT specalist.
Reply:when you say Microsoft 2007 -- what do you mean. there is vista, xp, etc..... never heard of Microsoft 2007
Reply:As Microsoft itself suggest, wait! I installed Vista some days ago, and I think it is not still ready. The firewall is a paranoic stuff that ask you ALWAYS what to do, Msn messenger doesn't run and my voip software neither.

If you really need a word processor now, download OpenOffice. It is compatible with word.

And you will buy Vista and Office 2007 with your next pc.
Reply:you can use office 2007 with no problem, i know because i have it like that
