Microsoft Product Key?

I bought a laptop and I can use Microsoft for a while, now I cant type anything in it, is it because the laptop kept on asking me about the product key that I have not entered?

If I do not have the key, does it mean I cannot use Microsoft?

I did not know about Microsoft codes when I bought my laptop, I thought it comes as a package.

Help??

Description

ProduKey is a small utility that displays the ProductID and the CD-Key of MS-Office, Windows, and SQL Server installed on your computer. You can view this information for your current running operating system, or for another operating system/computer - by using command-line options. This utility can be useful if you lost the product key of your Windows/Office, and you want to reinstall it on your computer.

Known Problems

* If you bought your computer with installed operating system, you may find the product key appeared in ProduKey utility is different from the product key on your Windows CD. This problem is mostly reported with Dell computers.

* From unknown reason, the product key of Visual Studio .NET is written in the Registry as Office XP product...

* In old versions of Office, the 'Product Key' value is not available.

Using ProduKey

ProduKey doesn't requite any installation process or additional DLLs. In order to start using it, just run the executable file - produkey.exe

The main window of ProduKey displays the list of Windows, Office, and SQL Server products installed on your system. For each product, the "Product ID" and "Product Key" are displayed. If you want the view the product key information in another computer, or in another operating system within

the same computer. I hope it helps!
Reply:flip your computer upside down, i bet the key is there.
Reply:It should have the Key on the bottom of the computer.
Reply:This utility should reveal your Microsoft Product Key.

You should have had a CD provided with your lap top with the key number written on it.

Reply:Look at the bottom of your laptop - if it came with an OS installed as a PACKAGE and not a TRIAL, it should have a serial number which you can use to activate Windows.

There are other ways around this - but this is the LEGAL way. I would not suggest using cracks or activators.

If you really dont have a license code, you can use a program that will NOT activate your Windows, but will STOP WINDOWS from asking you to activate - which I will only tell you if you REALLY dont have a license key.

Good luck!
Reply:if it's an older computer, it will have the key on the bottom. If you are running XP or Vista, that may not be the case. If you can't find it or the code on the bottom doesn't work, the person who sold it to you put an illegal copy of windows on it. You are either going to have to buy a copy of windows or download a free OS like freespire or ubuntu.
Reply:If this is a new computer with windows bundled, somewhere on it there should be a sticker with a windows key,it will be a multi number/letter key. If its not there contact the manufacturer with your model and serial number and they can supply the code for that machine. If when registering .micro soft should give you an option for them to search your program to find any embedded key.You should allow them to do this.....George
