Is microsoft works word processor the same as microsoft word altogether?
Completely different programs. If you want to use them both, you need to save your documents in a format that is supported by both. Rich Text Format (.rtf) will work in both (and in lots of other programs), but you'll have limited formatting options.

When you save your file, go to File %26gt; Save As. Then change the Format menu to RTF before clicking OK.
Reply:Word and the Works word processor by default, save files under different file extensions. So if you want to work with both word processors, you must save the file under an extension that both will recognize. I believe both will work with (.rtf).

You can purchase a "Student/Teacher version of Microsoft Office, which contains Word" for about $130.
Reply:You can download and install openoffice on your home computer and I believe that you will be able to work on the powerpoint and words docs on openOffice.

OpenOffice is a free 'office suite' program that is much like MS Office.
