For Microsoft, this is a corporate strategy. Maybe

Microsoft wants to venture into the market that Google

is into.

Only time will tell if Microsoft can beat Google.

It really depends on Yahoo stockholders if they want

to sell Yahoo to Microsoft.

Have a nice day !
Reply:Not millions dude its in billions....
Reply:Yes.they plan to beat Google..

And yes they can do it if they want
Reply:MS is planning to buy Yahoo at USD 50 billions and not millions.

This is being done to beat Google in online advertisement revenue.

Yahoo %26amp; Microsoft have no other option than joining hands to beat google in revenue.
Reply:They said on the news it was so they can beat Google at being the number 1 advertiser.

I dont think Yahoo should be sold to Microsoft because Yahoo is great the way it is :)
Reply:For the name.....all the hard work......all the ideas that have been input into Yahoo. That's how things work...what goes up......does.........? Hey! Its a fair and just scheme that rules the corporate sector....Microsoft could also lose big if ever their plans and schemes fail, there's still a degree of risk in purchasing Yahoo....You could tell Google to buy Yahoo if you intend to....they could call it GooHoo or something....or you could blame yourselves for signing-up an eon of times because of forgotten passwords. You may also bail-out Yahoo by going premium in Yahoo offered services. Just call me if you intend to bail-out Yahoo....pass me the money...and I'll hand it over to the Yahoo execs....!hahahahahahaah!
