Microsoft WORD disappeared?

I had microsoft WORD, and now when i upgraded some things, via microsoft.com, all i get it Microsoft Viewer.

This does NOT allow me to make editing changes, so I cannot make any corrections.

Why did this happen??

How can i fix this, and/or find the old WORD on my computer???

Microsoft WORD disappeared?
Go to start program, press all programs and then go to accessories and go to system tools on the drop down and go to restore systems now and then click next, choose a date prior to when you lost it, put date before you lost it and click next. Wait and it will shut down and your word will be restored. You can also go to control panel and add Microsoft word and just download it again. The first way may take out your upgrades but you will have your word back. This is a good way to get it back.
Reply:Did you have a licensed copy of Microsoft Word? I know that some of their new updates checks to see if you have valid copies.

Take a closer look at your hard drive, it's probably still there somewhere.

Otherwise, reinstall it.
Reply:u should re-install it and read the direction word 4 word
Reply:If the version you had was pirated, the updates probably did it intentionally.
Reply:you probably uninstalled it or can't find.

i suggest reinstalling it.

it's unlikely microsoft would simply uninstall your software (even if it is illegal).
Reply:Its probably in microsoft works program.....

The program either works or outlook only allow for word access through those programs
Reply:FIRST I WOULD INSERT THE OFFICE CD AND REPAIR THE FILES WITH IT. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE CD CLICK ON START%26gt;SEARCH%26gt;SEARCH FOR FILES %26amp; FOLDERS AND WHEN THE WINDOW APEARS CLICK THE ALLFILES AND FOLDERS LINK FROM THE MENU AND ENTER THE NAME WORD IN THE DESCRIPTION BAR, THEN CLICK ON MORE ADVANSED OPTIONS AND MAKE SURE THE BOX LABLED SEARCH HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS IS CHECKED THEN CLICK SEARCH AND A WORD SHORTCUT OR ICON SHOULD APEAR. IF IT DOSEN'T THEN THERE IS ANOTHER OPTION.

GO TO START%26gt;ACCESORIES%26gt;SYSTEM TOOLS%26gt;SYSTEM RESTORE AND FOLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO IT. REMEMBER YOU ONLY HAVE TO GO AS FAR BACK AS NEEDED TO WHEN YOU KNOW YOU HAD ACCESS TO WORD. THIS METHOD WILL RESTORE YOUR COMPUTER BACK TO AN EARLYER DATE TO WHEN YOU DID HAVE IT, BUT IF YOU JUST RECENTLY DOWNLADED NEW SOFTWARE IT WILL BE LOST. TO PREVENT THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO SAVE IT TO A DISK, CD, OR EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.
Reply:go to start --%26gt; run --%26gt; type winword.exe and hit enter

If word comes up, it is still loaded on your PC, if it doesn't, it was removed or corrupted somehow.

It is likely still there, though you may have lost your shortcut or file type association.
Reply:Right click on a .doc file and click on Open with.. Then look through the list for Word. If it is not in the list click browse and look for word.exe in the Program files\Office folder. Check the box to always open with this program and click OK.
